Pharmacy assistant (Part time)

Main responsibilities:

Under the line management of the Program manager and with a functional link with the deputy Medical Coordinator, the pharmacy assistant will:

    • Assist with the implementation of the process for the procurement and stock management with partners, in compliance with national regulatory constraints and in line with MdM’s good practice.

The main responsibilities and activities of the Pharmacy assistant can change depending on the evolution of the context, the work organization and the team composition.

Main activities:

  • Ensure the technical supervision of pharmaceutical stock management,
  • Capacity building, review of practices, training and support of RHUH on medical supply management
  • Monitor and collect data on consumption
  • Check storage and facility conditions and compliance with protocols
  • Implement and monitor waste protocols
  • Distribute tools and guidelines of proper medical supply management
  • Identify needs and orders and ensure compatibility between both
  • Support RHUH in medical procurement (medications, medical supplies and equipment)
  • Inventory checks
  • Monitor the quarantine and/or destruction of expired, falsified, substandard or damaged items according to the established procedure
  • Report malfunctions in the management of the pharmacy, the building, and related materials and equipment
  • Draft activity reports
  • Contribute to the analysis of partners' pharmacy data

Requested Profile

  • Pharmacist with 2 to 3 years of experience with an NGO or INGO
  • Experience related to primary health care and SRHR
  • Experience in medical procurement and stock management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: maintain a transparent, honest and supportive communication structure within a team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft word and excel.
  • Knowledge of PHENICS
  • Arabic and English languages are mandatory – French added value
