Health Program Coordinator - Bekaa

Program Implementation Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact to supervise and monitor field activities of the health teams in the areas of Bekaa and Baalback Hermel including Arsal; Ensure effective and efficient day-to-day implementation of program plans; Responsible for monitoring and evaluating the quality of the health team and making recommendations to improve output;
  • Ensure close supervision of field assessments and monitoring visits in order to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of RI’s intervention and PHC work. This includes identifying problems, risks, and areas for improvement; and providing technical support to staff;
  • Actively assist the Country Health Programs Manager in monitoring, implementing and developing project mobilization and close-out deliverables and work plans; and ensure they are properly communicated with the team members in order to provide needed guidance;
  • The job holder is expected to contribute to program development initiatives, whenever requested.

Team Management and Employee Supervision

  • Responsible for managing the staff of the relevant program team, including but not limited to: employee relations, grievances, leaves’ management, empowerment, training and development, performance objectives, capacity building, completion of performance evaluations in a comprehensive and timely manner; the coordinator is expected to proactively plan and organize training and developmental activities to develop the capacity of the PHC staff and program;
    • Issues faced in any of the above-mentioned aspects should be reported to the HR Team and Programs Manager; all decisions taken should be in alignment with RI’s policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for supporting staff to make decisions within their level, taking leadership to resolve issues, and collaborating with the Programs Manager for resolution of issues at a higher level or if assistance is requested;
  • In coordination with HR and Country Health Programs Manager, the Health Coordinator actively participates in identifying any vacancies and recruitment needs; this includes shortlisting CVs, attending interviews, providing technical feedback, developing ToRs, orienting new joiners regarding their on-the-job tasks and any other related tasks; 

Documentation and Reporting

  • Responsible for keeping the Country Health Programs Manager well-informed with developments and emerging issues related to the implementation of the health component of the program; Work closely with the Country Health Programs Manager and Program staff to propose, develop, implement, improve and communicate relevant health policies, procedures and guidelines on a regular basis; stay updated regarding relevant health policies and guidelines and communicate necessary updates to all relevant staff while ensuring the presence of appropriate improvement or changes in implementation accordingly;
  • Responsible for the supervision of routine data collection and reporting; prepare monthly statistical morbidity and mortality reports, reproductive health reports and immunization data; closely supervise the collection of health data from the health facilities supported by RI to ensure quality and accuracy; and monitor medical consumables requests, donations to the centers and ensure appropriate documentation.
  • As requested by the Country Health Programs Manager, the Health Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the timely drafting and close follow up to finalize needed reports; and ensure submission of all required reports to external stakeholders as required;
  • In close coordination with the Country Health Programs Manager, actively assist in the development of "Success Stories" to be shared with RI Global Communications and donor.

Internal and External Coordination

  • Provide active participation and regular attendance at the health working group meetings, and technical meetings which are intended to build technical and managerial capacity, and other relevant meetings requested by the Country Health Programs Manager. When requested, ensure coordination with key external parties as necessary;
  • Closely coordinate with the Operations Department staff on supply and non-supply assistance activities for the health team and health facilities;
  • Participate actively in internal program meetings as scheduled, coming prepared to the meeting to maximize usefulness for project implementation;

Assist the Country Health Programs Manager for ensuring a positive field visit from donors, government, or other important external stakeholders, including ensuring a well-organized visit and responsiveness to any questions.

 

 

Medical Data Monitoring

  • Plan and facilitate the medical team meetings while encouraging a learning environment and enhancing ownership RI’s intervention among the Field Medical Coordinators, Pharmacists, Quality Control Officers and Public Health Officers.
  • Ensure the medical dashboard in updated on quarterly basis, analyze its data and monitor the health trends to be used in external meetings and project designs.
  • Lead on the development of medical related SOPs for new projects, or new components in ongoing projects.
