Type of contract: Service contract, 2 days per month, fixed term, 12 months, renewable.

Function responsibilities include:
- Provide treatment for patients suffering from severe and common psychiatric disorders with specific attention to the cultural context.
- Provide training and supervision to national and international medical staff (doctors and nurses) on diagnosis and treatment of severe and common mental health disorders according to MSF guidelines.
- Participate as a member of the mental health team when present and offer supervision and support to national psychologists and counselors.
- Ensure that guidelines and psychotropic medications from MSF standard drug list are available in the project.
- Ensure that proper information on treatment and follow up are collected in order to monitor the provision of care.
- Evaluate in-country available psychiatric services including possibilities for psychiatric hospitalization and the quality of these services.
- Form a relationship with MoH and exploration of sustainability of psychiatric treatment.
- Establish collaboration/communication with medical specialties in the project in order to achieve a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care.
Specific Accountabilities
- Regular supervision of MHGAP doctors with consultations of patients, case discussions, file review.
- Supervision includes phone calls, as needed.
- The clinic managers, mental health supervisors and psychologists will program patients according to schedule so that on-the-job supervision can be done.
- Visits for supervision will be performed at least 2 days per month, one day per clinic (Arsal & Hermel).
- Together with doctors, psychologists, and Mental health supervisor, based on supervision, further training required will be proposed and planned.
- Monthly reporting of indicators, prescriptions according to MSF protocols
- A quarterly report concerning the program and doctors’ competencies evaluation should be done with Mental health supervisor/manager.
- Support in stabilization of patients in need and organize referral operations that align with the department referral criteria.
- Coordinate the training sessions for the medical and paramedical team according to the department's training plan.
- Collaborate with both the medical and paramedical team for the effective provision of service to our beneficiaries.
- Demonstrate flexibility and commitment to provide remote and phone support to MSF team, ensuring continuous and accessible mental health specialized care all time
Requirements
Education
- Essential: Diploma of Medicine from a recognized university
- Essential: Specialization in psychiatry from a recognized university.
- Essential: Ministry of public health practice license as Psychiatrist in Lebanon
- Essential: Valid certificate of registration at the Lebanese order of physicians-LOP
Experience
- Essential: At least 2 years of certified work experience in psychiatry.
- Desirable: Previous experience with MSF or other local and/or international NGOs.
Languages
- Essential: Full professional proficiency using the Arabic and English Language.
- Desirable: Elementary to limited professional proficiency using the French Language.
Knowledge
- Essential: Basic to intermediate computer literacy using MS-office applications (MS-Word, MS-Outlook, MS-Excel).
