Context & Background

About Berytech:

Berytech is a leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Lebanon, that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.

About Lebanon Innovate:

Lebanon Innovate is a 42-month European Union-funded initiative, aimed at advancing Lebanese research into market-ready innovations in key sectors such as ICT, healthcare, and agrifood. The program is designed to enhance Lebanon's entrepreneurial ecosystem, encouraging partnerships between academia and industry, and emphasizing intellectual property protection and international networking to catalyze economic and innovative development in Lebanon.

The program aims to:

• Enhance competitiveness in sectors like agrifood, healthcare, and ICT.
• Support stakeholder empowerment for knowledge sharing and commercialization.
• Foster industry-academia partnerships for innovation.
• Connect with European countries and diaspora networks for global market access.

This Terms of Reference (TOR) falls under one of the key activities of the Lebanon Innovate Program, specifically the “LIRA Program” that aims at ensuring the financing of applied academic research that address industrial needs turning them into startups or connecting them with local or international industrialists, innovation centers and research institutes

SCOPE OF WORK AND REQUIREMENTS:

Market and Financial Feasibility
Timeline: June 14,2024 till August 30, 2024

Under the context of Lira program, the service provider will be delivering 5 workshop sessions and 2 rounds of one on one clinics for 12 projects to support them in building their market and financial feasibility plan while providing relevant deliverables.

These workshops aim to help the entrepreneurs in identifying and having an in-depth understanding of their market segment, validating their product, identifying direct/indirect competitors, and building their financial plan (in terms of cost, revenue, funding sources, and risk analysis)  

Below are tentative subjects that will be validated with Berytech after conducting the needs assessment.

• Market research techniques and steps
• Competitive analysis and market positioning
• Customer persona and pain points
• Product analysis and development
• Market validation (conducting interview, focus groups &/or surveys)
• Revenue Model, and financial modelling

Format

• 5 group coaching sessions of 4 hours each covering the mentioned topics
• 2 rounds of one-on-one clinics for the 12 projects covering 24 hours in total

Budget:
The Total Budget should not exceed 5,000 EURO

Timeline
The project is expected to start by June 14, 2024 to August 30, 2024

Coordination and complimentary support from Berytech

The service provider is asked to share with Berytech a clear concise curriculum and timeline. The service provider may be suggested to complement the sessions with supporting activities suggested by Berytech.

Deliverables:

The expected deliverable after the training is for the participants to develop a feasibility study document to their projects. The outline to be validate with Berytech team

Proposal Needs to Include:

• Concise Curriculum
• Timeline
• Roadmap of the workshop sessions
• Financial proposal
• Assessment Report on each startup roadmap and next steps

Expert Qualifications

• Applications to this proposal can be from independent trainers/consultants, Corporate or Agency
• The service provider should have at least 5 years of experience in supporting startups/projects.
• Effective communicator with any audience in an organized and professional manner
• Use of tools and methods to finalize the consultancy mission with the support of the beneficiary
• Have previous experience in offering training and coaching sessions.
