Referral Social Worker

Position’s mission:

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the  Refferal social worker is responsible for supporting partners in safe identification and referral activities.      

Reports to: Health Project Manager

Responsibilities

Responsibility 1: Contribute to the development of tools for the project implementation and to the capacity building of the project partners.

Aim: Ensure the project team and partners understand and are able to apply the chosen modalities of intervention in compliance with HI technical framework.

Tasks:

  • - Participate in the selection and contextualization of the modalities of intervention in compliance with HI framework.
  • - Contribute to the development and/or adaptation of methodologies and to the development of tools
  • - Organize and/or participate to the testing of the tool whenever appropriate and adjust them according to the results of the test
  • - Train and coach project partners on the relevant methodologies and tools.
  • Produce training and coaching reports and coordinate feedback with the partners for strengthening continuous staff development.

Responsibility 2: Support the implementation of project activities.

Aim: Ensure that the project intervention contributes to positive outcomes for the beneficiaries

Tasks: In collaboration with the project team and under the project manager’s supervision, the referral social worker will be responsible for:

Activities:       

  • - Capacity building of local partners to strengthen their referral system
  • - Support partners to safely Identify needs of project users
  • - Regular mapping the existing service providers
  • - Support partners in networking with stakeholders and service providers
  • - Follow up with partners on referrals of users to meet their identified needs

 

Responsibility 3:  Contribute to project’s monitoring, lessons learning and reporting

Aim: Ensure the project intervention remains on the right track and it takes into account of good/bad/successful/failure practices

Task: In collaboration with the IM officer and under the supervision of the project manager, the referral social worker will be responsible for proper documentation, reporting and monitoring

Activities:

  • - Collect data in relation with core tasks and contribute to the measurement of the progress made.
  • - Support partners to use tools, and ensure documentation of all the activities
  • - Conduct regular monitoring visits and coaching to partners teams to ensure proper implementation of the activities
  • - Support the Project Manager in analyzing the data collected and in identifying necessary adjustments in the project implementation framework to improve the quality and impact of the intervention
  • - Contribute to the identification of good practices under the project
  • - Contribute to planning and produce activity reports
  • - Contribute to the preparation and implementation of project quarterly review
  • - Contribute to the development of lessons learning exercise, data collection and analysis and the production of dissemination document
  • - Facilitate the field implementation of project’s evaluations

 

Note that this job description must remain flexible, to respond to additional tasks or changes as identified by the line manager.

 

Education:

  • Essential: University degree in social work or related degree

Experience:

  • Essential: At least 3 years of professional experience in the related field
  • Desirable: with preference with NGO. Referral experience, experience in protection/MHPSS projects would be an asset.

 

Other skills:

  • - Demonstrate good understanding of social issues.
  • - Understanding of a comprehensive approach on disability and vulnerability.
  •  Proven coordination skills to work with a diverse network of actors, including the public authorities, in a diplomatic manner.
  • - Good report writing skills.
  • - Demonstrated effective communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • - Ability to relate to the target group (be approachable, shows empathy).
  • - Ability to propose workable solutions and identify their implications (positive and negative) adapted to beneficiaries’ needs.
  • - English and Arabic mandatory (oral and written), French would be an asset.
  • - Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, especially Excel, Word and Power Point.

Basic salary ranges for the position:  Referral Social Worker  is going to be paid according to the experience and to HI salary Grid.

Basic Salary Starting 1,700 USD
