MEAL Officer (upon donor approval)

Under the supervision of the MEAL Manager, the MEAL Officer is responsible for overseeing and conducting monitoring activities, ensuring data quality, analysing data, and supporting in generating reports. The position requires significant fieldwork and movement within the intervention zone. The officer should be resilient to stress due to the dynamic work environment.

Objective 1: Data Collection Process

  • Lead the development and implementation of assessments for monitoring purposes in coordination with the program team and MEAL coordinator
  • Review, update, and improve current data collection tools
  • Conduct and oversee assessments with different stakeholders
  • Plan and prepare for data collection activities
  • Support in data cleaning and data analysis
  • Conduct and oversee FGDs, KIIs, and case studies with different stakeholders
  • Train and supervise enumerators

Objective 2: FCRM + Referrals

  • Ensure proper and protected management of complaints
  • Facilitate necessary referrals for people in need both internally and externally
  • Ensure applying the accountability towards beneficiaries and other stakeholders

Objective 3: Field Visits

  • Conduct spot checks on shops with agreements
  • Conduct and oversee spot checks on the location of the intervention
  • Support and oversee the conduction of pre- and post-tests for awareness sessions
  • Provide reports on the field visits findings and make recommendation

Objective 4: Reporting and Communication

  • Support in creating reports on the assessment finding
  • Provide detailed field visit reports to the MEAL Manager
  • Report work progress or any issues to the MEAL Manager
  • Participate in Communicating  findings and recommendations to the program team and senior management

 

Ideal Profile:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in international development, Management information systems, social science, statistics, Public administration, humanitarian action, or any related field
  • Experience:  at least 2 years of professional experience in MEAL activities
  • Previous experience with NGO/INGO is a must
  • Previous experience in monitoring livelihoods, food security and/or agricultural projects providing cash assistance is an asset
  • Good skills in data analysis
  • Profession in MS Office
  • Fluent in English
  • A driving license is a must
