Janitor/Majdel Anjar

LOST is seeking to recruit a Janitor in Majdel Anjar . 

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within the educational centre. This role involves regular cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure that the facility is presentable and conducive to learning.

Key Responsibilities:

Cleaning and Maintenance:

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in classrooms, hallways, offices, and other areas.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors.
• Empty trash bins and replace liners.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.
• Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, tables, and counters.
• Ensure all areas are free of hazards and report any maintenance issues.

Safety and Compliance:

• Use cleaning chemicals and supplies safely and in accordance with instructions.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe environment.
• Report any safety hazards or concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Facility Upkeep:

• Assist in setting up and breaking down for events and activities as needed.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored.

Support Services:

• Respond promptly to requests for cleaning or maintenance services.
• Collaborate with other staff to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
• Assist in maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work is an asset.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving objects .
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or overtime as needed.

Working Conditions:

• Physically demanding work, including standing, bending, and lifting.
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Work may be required both indoors and outdoors, depending on the needs of the educational centre.
