Key Responsibilities:
The Procurement Officer supervises all procurement activities which include identifying the products needed, requesting and evaluating offers, ensuring quality and compatibility of items to be purchased, determining quantity and timing of deliveries, advising on the best offer considering quality/price, to negotiating contracts, suggesting best bidder, awarding tenders/purchases to the selected offer and following up on orders, reviewing quality of purchased products and resolving any discrepancies, reviewing approved purchase orders received, negotiating maintenance contracts, maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records, researching and evaluating prospective suppliers, maintaining good supplier relations.
Moreover, the Procurement Officer updates the contacts list database and coordinates with various departments regarding related issues to procurement process and to the contact list. Participates in the inventory plan preparation & controls, reports findings to the Secretary General and suggests recommendations. Participates in the tendering committee.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Business Administration or equivalent, Masters’ degree is a plus.
- 3 to 6 years’ experience in an Administrative/Procurement role preferably with a non-profit organization.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Active listening skills.
- Very good critical thinking skills.
- Tactful with excellent negotiation skills.
- Very good commercial knowledge.
- Having a strong work ethics and a strong sense of confidentiality and integrity.
- Good knowledge or written and spoken Arabic and English. French is a plus.
- Good computer skills and proficiency in MS Office tools.
The successful candidate will need to be detail oriented with good analytical skills, able to work under pressure, with excellent ability to meet deadlines.
