Job Purpose:

Empower girls and adult women by providing essential literacy and numeracy skills to improve their quality of life and economic opportunities, and to support their own and their children's education.

Major Activities:

  • Develop a comprehensive curriculum tailored to the literacy and numeracy levels of girls and adult women.
  • Conduct regular classes while using instructional practices and teaching strategies that are engaging and accessible to adult learners.
  • Identify assessment tools and implement assessments to track learners’ progress.
  • Maintain records of attendance and progress, and report to the program coordinator regularly.
  • Provide individual support and feedback to learners as needed.
  • Develop and distribute teaching materials and resources. 
  • Engage with the community to encourage participation and support for the program.

Education & Experience:

  • A degree in Education or a related field.
  • Experience in teaching literacy and numeracy for youth and adults.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a supportive attitude towards learners.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Experience in curriculum development is a plus.

  • Ability to teach basic literacy and numeracy effectively to adult learners.
  • Flexibility in teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and levels.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work with women from diverse backgrounds and respect their cultural contexts.
  • Ability to address challenges and find solutions to enhance learning outcomes.
