INT2024 49 Immigration and Border Governance (IBG) Intern

IBG is instrumental in developing and implementing strategies to enhance border management, streamline immigration processes, and ensure safe migration, all while supporting Lebanese authorities and partners.

As an intern, you will gain invaluable experience working under the direct supervision of the Senior Programme Assistant (IBG) and in close coordination with the Programme Manager (IBG) and the Head of Programmes at IOM Lebanon. This is an excellent opportunity to build your skills and knowledge in a dynamic and impactful environment.

Learning Objectives and Key Responsibilities:

  1. Efficiently manage and maintain program documentation, including filing, photocopying, and scanning, ensuring that all records are well-organized and accessible.
  2. Draft and handle routine correspondence, including letters, memos, and emails, as directed by the Supervisor.
  3. Schedule and organize meetings, workshops, and other program-related events, including booking venues and arranging equipment.
  4. Assist with travel arrangements for staff and participants, including booking flights, accommodation, and transportation.
  5. Coordinate the distribution of materials and supplies for program activities, ensuring everything needed for successful events is in place.
  6. Support the preparation of program reports, presentations, and communication materials, supporting the dissemination of program results.
  7. Maintain an updated contact list of partners, stakeholders, and program participants.
  8. Provide general administrative support to the IBG team.
  9. Take on additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

Applicants to IOM internships: must, at the time of application,

  • a) be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent); or
  • b) be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or
  • c) have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within one year of graduation.
  • Must be between 20 and 36 years of age.
  • Should have a working knowledge (both oral and written) of in one of IOM’s official languages (English).
