COOPI in Lebanon

Active since 2003, COOPI operates in Northern Lebanon, supporting refugees and host communities. Current projects address the economic crisis and COVID-19 impacts through livelihoods, WASH, PSS, and Cash for Work activities in Beirut.

Following the recent deterioration of the humanitarian situation that Lebanon is facing, COOPI is developing its emergency activities in livelihood, WASH and PSS. In the same time, COOPI is setting a Cash for Work activity in Beirut related to waste collection and cleaning of the neighbourhood’s environment.

 

Purpose of the role

The Emergency Coordinator manages emergency response and a Cash for Work project, analyzing the situation, coordinating with sectors, donors, and partners, and writing proposals.

Main responsibilities

  • Proposal writing
  • Activity planning and monitoring
  • Administrative and financial management
  • Reporting
  • Staff management
  • Goods management
  • Institutional relations (Clusters, Donors, State and local representation).

Requirements

  • Four years of humanitarian experience,
  • Strong analytical, supervisory, and communication skills,
  • Experience in insecure environments,
  • Proficiency in English, Arabic would be a plus,
  • Experience with UNHCR, ECHO, or OCHA is beneficial.
