WASH Officer

I- Organization, Planning and Reporting

• Collaborate with the Project coordinator to prepare and update work plans and forecast resources for WASH interventions.
• Oversee the planning and implementation of WASH interventions such as water trucking, sanitation facility installation/maintenance, hygiene promotion, hygiene kit distribution and community engagement.
• Identify shelters and communities in need of WASH services, prioritizing those with inadequate water access or sanitation infrastructure.
• Ensure activities are carried out in compliance with donor and organizational administrative procedures.
• Provide regular reports on the progress and outcomes of WASH activities, highlighting lessons learned and areas for improvement.

II – Coordination

• Maintain positive coordination with local authorities, DRR and shelter focal points to gain access to shelters and secure field approvals for WASH interventions.
• Work closely with the project coordinator to ensure activities are aligned with sector standards.
• Attend coordination meetings with WASH sector partners to foster collaborative programming and avoid duplication of efforts at regional level.

III- Use of the project’s resources

• Monitor and manage resources needed for WASH activities, including water trucking services, kits distribution, and maintenance.
• Supervise community volunteers and contractors to ensure the quality and efficiency of service delivery.
• Track and report on the usage of resources, ensuring compliance with donor guidelines.
