PRESENTATION OF THE ORGANIZATION
SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian NGO which, for more than 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their vital needs for food, water and shelter. Particularly involved in the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the first cause of death in the world, SI's interventions provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in around twenty countries, SI's teams - 2000 people in total made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at headquarters, and a few volunteers - work with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures.
Solidarités International (SI) is determined to prevent and fight all type of abuse – all act of exploitation, abuse and/or sexual harassment (SEAH) against members of beneficiary communities or collaborators, fraud, corruption, violation of persons and/or property, funding of activities harmful to human rights – that could be perpetrated in the frame of its interventions. DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION
General objective:
The field officer, under the direct supervision of the Community & Services Team Leader, is responsible for conducting needs assessments and overseeing the planning, execution, and monitoring of Water Trucking, Desludging and community engagement activities within informal settlements inhabited by Syrian refugees and nearby host communities. In addition, he/she will participate in responding to emergencies (distribution of NFI, CRI, water trucking, Desludging and data collection)
The main challenges:
- High emotional and mental strain from working in conflict-affected environments.
- Threat of violence and restricted access to conflict zones
- Working under pressure and overtime/weekends.
- Working with different target groups
Priorities for the 2/3 first months:
- Participate in SI WASH, shelter and basic assistance emergency response for North and Akkar.
- Participate in emergency distribution campaigns
- Participate in community engagement and services activities including monitoring and supervision in the field.

Responsibilities and main activities:
- Identifying target groups, planning activities, and updating tools based on needs.
- Under the supervision of the line manager, assist with logistical planning for distributions (NFI and CRI), participate in community engagement activities, and emergency response efforts (e.g., setting-up handwashing stations, promoting hygiene practices).
- Establishing and collaborate with WASH Committees, monitor community engagement, water trucking, and desludging operations, and ensure alignment with criteria.
- Coordinating with water supply operators, ensure compliance with delivery routes
- Coordinating with the Desludging service provider, ensure compliance with delivery routes
- Participating in Emergency response in Informal settlements, Collective shelter or any plan to have
Reporting/Communication:
- Share with the line manager and the security focal point all relevant information about security, activities, logistics, or administrative issues that occurred at the field level, using Solidarités International’s tools and procedures.
- Maintain accurate reporting, data management of the activities, incidents, achievements, referrals, information, etc., and report monitoring results.
- Give information to the beneficiaries about SI mandate, activities, results, and external actors and represent SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL when necessary.
- Engage in internal and external referral.
- Facilitate, build up and maintain good relationships with the beneficiaries.
- Participate in the mitigation of problems between communities when they arise.
- Communicate with other SI activities and departments for the daily activities.

PROFILE NEEDED
Studies : Bachelor in Public Health, Social sciences, Education or related fields
Experience : WASH, Shelter & basic assistance in emergency setting, good communication skills.
Language : Arabic and English
IT : Microsoft, KOBO or equivalent programs, Online applications like GPS
Qualification :
- Excellent understanding of humanitarian principles, accountability, and do no harm.
- Excellent prioritization and organization skills to work independently.
- Ability to work under pressure and to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
- Work accurately with close attention to details.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, communications and diplomatic skills
- Strong capacities in team management including training and capacity building.
- Diplomacy, cultural sensitivity, negotiation skills.
- Motivation and commitment to humanitarian work and values
SI WILL OFFER YOU
A salaried post : 1325 USD as basic salary
Vacation : 1.75 paid leave per month
