Warehouse Supervisor - Emergency (Upon funds approval)

Position’s mission:

Under the hierarchical responsibility of the Operations Manager (Atlas Project) of Lebanon Mission, and in collaboration with the other departments of the mission, the Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for the setup and running of the storage warehouse in Beirut/Mount Lebanon area, as well as the management of the Warehouse team (possible storekeeper and handlers) which will be dedicated to stock management. She/ he implements the responsibilities in compliance with HI procedures.

Reports to: Operations Manager (ATLAS Project)

Interacts with: Logistics team, storekeeper, handlers, partners, suppliers and service providers

 

Missions / Responsibilities:

Mission 1. Ensuring the setup and running of the storage service in the Beirut Warehouse:

Activities:

  • Under the supervision of Project Manager, plans the operations and the implementation of activities as defined by the Project Manager.
  • Under the supervision of Project Manager, plans activities efficiently and in accordance with humanitarian organizations requesting services.
  • Participates in the development of new services in line with the orientations given by the HI-ATLAS Platform’s project Manager.
  • Ensures that the operational implementation of the project achieved the objectives set by the project manager.
  • Evaluates the quality of the storage services.
  • Implements continuous actions to improve the quality of service.
  • Helps the project manager to design and improve tools and documents on storage activities for knowledge capitalization purposes.

Mission 2. Managing the operational team:

Activities:

  • Manages the warehouse team (storekeeper(s), handlers).
  • Conducts training sessions for the warehouse team (layout, handling, …).
  • Ensures good accountability of process documents and accuracy of information sharing with Project Manager.
  • With the warehouse team, assists the Project Manager to archive the different folder by setting up training and use of operational documents (bin cards, inventory reports etc.).
  • Ensures good communication-coordination-information with and between members of the team.
  • Supports warehouse team with drafting their action plans and establishing their objectives.

Mission 3. Communicating on the ATLAS storage

Activities:

  • With delegated authority from the project manager, represents HI-ATLAS Platform during the HI internal meetings.
  • Ensures that the flow of information between the different projects and support departments is smooth and efficient.
  • Under the supervision of HI-ATLAS Platform Storage Project Manager, establishes contacts and operational links with daily handlers, humanitarian stakeholders etc.
  • Produces regular activity reports for the HI-ATLAS Platform Storage Project Manager.
  • Helps partner organizations find the appropriate logistic solution for their action.
  • Ensures that communication with partners is in line with the Project Manager's strategy.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Essential: High School Degree
  • Desirable: Degree/Bachelor in Supply Chain, logistics or relevant education

Experience:

  • Essential: at least 4 years’ experience in warehouse management
  • Essential: experience with NGOs/INGOs
  • Essential: at least 1-year experience in supervising a team
  • Desirable: previous experience with HI
  • Desirable: previous experience in medical storage

Language:

  • Essential: English and Arabic mandatory (oral and written)

Other skills:

  • Mastering warehouse management (layout, inventory, …)
  • Very good English command (reading, writing and speaking)
  • Proficient: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • High analytical and logical capacity
  • Autonomy and team spirit
  • Good public relations skills
  • Strong attention to details
  • Motivated to bring humanitarian aid

Basic salary ranges for the position is going to be paid according to the experience and to HI salary Grid.

Basic Salary: Starting 1,700 USD
