Clinical Psychologist - North

Key responsibilities  

 

Accountability and Complexity 

Provide appropriate mental health support and/or treatment through individual counseling, group therapy, and psycho-education to all beneficiaries in need. 

 Work directly with the Social Workers to develop individualized intervention plans following the case management model and follow-up at the Education centers. 

Engage in clinical supervision to ensure cases are managed appropriately. 

Support the existing MHPSS team at PHCC level with the influx of cases.   

Visit Collective Shelters (CSs) or any field areas where MHPSS sessions are required.  

Provide PSS sessions and group support sessions for both adults and children, addressing traumatic events and promoting overall well-being.  

Deliver one-on-one, specialized sessions either in the field, at centers, or remotely, based on the needs of the participants.  

Conduct assessments of the psychological and emotional needs of individuals in emergency situations, adjusting sessions accordingly.  

Collaborate with shelter coordinators and field teams to ensure appropriate space and resources are available for conducting PSS sessions.  

Provide crisis intervention support for individuals dealing with acute emotional distress.  

Participate in awareness-raising activities about the importance of mental health during emergency situations.  

Document and report on the progress of PSS sessions and any emergent needs within the shelters or field areas 

Provide training and capacity building for shelter staff, volunteers, and field workers on Psychological First Aid (PFA) and basic mental health support, when needed.  

Ensure that participants have access to relevant mental health and psychosocial resources, including referral pathways and support services. 

 

Reporting and Documentation 

Report on weekly progress to the Mental Health Supervisor.  

Monitor the psychological progress of the beneficiary, review cases with the Mental Health Supervisor/ MH Coordinator, and refer cases to specialized services when required (speech therapy, psychomotor therapy, etc.) 

Support with the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports, providing detailed updates on session outcomes, challenges, and success stories.  

File documents in an organized and efficient manner to facilitate the review of cases

Coordination: 

Coordinate with the MHPSS Supervisor and other team members to ensure the seamless delivery of sessions, aligning them with RI’s overall program goals. 

Communicate with RI’s MH team to provide updates on participants’ progress and discuss any additional support needed for specific cases. 

Work collaboratively with Social Workers to share best practices, develop session materials, and ensure a consistent approach.  

Actively participate in coordination meetings, staff meetings, and lessons learned events, sharing insights and experiences to contribute to the team’s overall learning and service improvement.
