CFS Field Officer ( Pending Funding )

Jobs Purpose: The CFS Field Officer will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring Child-Friendly Space (CFS) activities in emergency settings. The role focuses on creating safe, structured environments for children, where they can engage in recreational, educational, and psychosocial activities. The candidate will also be involved in community engagement to motivate volunteers and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure the delivery of quality services.

Reporting To: Protection Coordinator

Number of Vacancies Available and Locations :

  • 3 Vacancies: Beirut - Aramoun - Bchamoun 

Major Activities :

  • Plan and implement CFS activities in accordance with project objectives, ensuring that child protection standards are upheld.
  • Organize and facilitate structured activities for children, including play, educational programs, and psychosocial support sessions.
  • Conduct regular assessments of CFS activities, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring quality standards are maintained.
  • Engage and motivate community volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure active participation in CFS activities.
  • Monitor and document children’s participation, keeping accurate records of attendance, activities, and any issues.
  • Work closely with the Protection Coordinator to expand and adapt CFS activities based on community needs and feedback.

Community Engagement and Coordination

  • Establish positive relationships with parents, caregivers, and community leaders to promote the importance of Child-Friendly Spaces.
  • Mobilize the community to encourage participation in CFS activities, ensuring inclusivity for all children.
  • Coordinate with other service providers and partners to facilitate referrals when necessary.
  • Raise awareness on child protection, safety, and psychosocial issues within the community.

People Management : 

  • Train and supervise volunteers involved in CFS activities, ensuring they adhere to B&Z’s Child Protection, PSEA, and Safeguarding policies.
  • Provide regular briefings and feedback to volunteers, helping them improve their skills in animating children’s activities.
  • Report any issues, concerns, or violations of child protection standards directly to the Protection Coordinator.

Key Performance Indicators: 

  • Effective implementation of CFS activities, with high participation rates and positive feedback from children and caregivers.
  • Adherence to child protection standards and B&Z’s policies during all activities.
  • Active community participation, with successful engagement and motivation of volunteers.
  • Accurate and timely reporting on CFS activities and any child protection concerns.

Delegation of Authority: 

Reporting: Report any violations related to Child Protection, PSEA, or Safeguarding policies to the Protection Coordinator.

Education & Experience:

  • University degree or diploma in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Experience of 2+ years in animating children’s activities or similar roles in community settings.
  • Community engagement experience, especially in mobilizing and managing volunteers.
  • Fluency in Arabic, with basic English speaking and writing skills preferred.
