Red Oak is a humanitarian, developmental and cultural non-profit organization established in Lebanon in 2017. Red Oak is committed to a sustainable, inclusive, and innovative approach to protecting and educating vulnerable populations in Lebanon. This includes children at risk, survivors of violence, exploitation, and abuse and their caregivers, women and girls, and persons with disabilities. Our approach stands out for its holistic and inclusive methodology, using art as a powerful catalyst for change.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement recreational / Community-based psychosocial activities through art-based group interventions.
- Positively interact with children and encourage them to express their needs and ensure their safety.
- Ensure participation of children in the sessions in a non-discriminatory as well as age and gender sensitive and appropriate approach.
- Ensure that the children feel safe, comfortable and respected during activities.
- Collects and documents feedback on the implementation of the methodology including challenges and lessons learnt.
- Ensure that all children are aware of any accountability/ complaint mechanisms.
- Collect attendance of participants in the activities, and fill in weekly and monthly reports as required.
- Respect and abide to the organization’s internal code of conduct and child protection policy.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Ability to provide Psychological First Aid when needed.
- Ensure that all identified children at risk are referred to other services when needed by following the referral pathways.
Qualifications and Experiences:
- University degree in psychology, social work, education, social sciences, art and / or other relevant degrees.
- At least 1 year in working with children (preferably children who were at risk).
- Knowledge in Child Protection minimum standards or principles.
- Experience in implementing community-based activities.
- Previous experience in working with vulnerable population is a plus.
- Knowledge in Psychological First Aid is a plus.
- Good communication and facilitation skills (including active listening).
- Comfortable in communicating in both Arabic and English languages (English for reporting is a must).
- Knowledge and skills in computer usage including word, excel, and power point.
- Flexibility in working hours and willing to work in volatile environments.
- Experience in remote modality of activities’ implementation is a plus.
- Experience in the provision of emergency response is a plus.
