Team Leader – Community Outreach

Skoun Lebanese Addictions Center is a Lebanese non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in 2003 in the aim of improving the response to the drug problem in Lebanon. Since then, Skoun has become a leading entity in the delivery of harm reduction and substance use treatment programs reaching thousands of people and their families across Lebanon. Our main mission is to provide accessible treatment, education, and protection for all people who use drugs. We are committed to reducing the harm caused by substance use in Lebanon. Skoun’s vision is to ensure that substance use and addiction are treated as a primary health issue.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Team Leader to oversee a group of outreach workers to conduct interventions with internally displaced people in emergency situations. The Team Leader will be responsible for coordinating volunteer activities, ensuring the quality of support provided, and fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Supervision: Lead, mentor, and support a team of outreach workers, providing guidance and oversight during interventions.
  • Training and Capacity Building: Organize and conduct training sessions for outreach workers to enhance their skills in providing effective support.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with local organizations, community leaders, and other stakeholders to align efforts and maximize impact.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: gather feedback, and implement improvements as needed.
  • Resource Management: Ensure that outreach workers have the necessary resources and materials to conduct sessions effectively.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on team activities, participant engagement, and challenges faced, sharing insights with relevant the outreach program coordinator.
  • Crisis Management: Provide support during critical incidents, ensuring the well-being of both outreach workers and participants.
  • Community Engagement: Build trust and rapport within the community to encourage participation and openness among displaced individuals.
  • Referral Focal point: Act as the referral focal point for cases received and identified through the hotline and outreach activities.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in leadership or supervisory roles, preferably in humanitarian or emergency response settings.
  • Background in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of psychosocial support principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams and promote a positive team culture.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly in crisis situations.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and environments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft office (word & excel…) and the KOBO system is preferred.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and software.
  • Additional knowledge in substance use is a must.
