Responsibilities:
- Provide effective teaching and facilitation to refugees and vulnerable host community children by employing a variety of methodologies in teaching students, including demonstrations, discussions, and lectures
- Facilitate the BLN sessions with appropriate differentiation to cater for different needs
- Help students improve their listening, speaking, reading, writing, numeracy, and computation skills
- Maintain a child-friendly and safe teaching/learning environment in the classroom while adopting a holistic approach to teaching (physical, emotional, and intellectual wellbeing)
- Ensure safe, secure, simulative and inclusive classes to meet the abilities and the needs of the children (including children with disabilities)
- Supervise the students upon arrival and departure and between sessions
- Utilize and protect the educational equipment, such as materials, books, and other learning aids
- Attend and actively participate in all mandatory trainings
- Attend and participate in weekly reporting and planning meetings to ensure adherence to standards of care, quality education, referrals, and reporting requirements
- Track attendance and follow up closely with center coordinators on children who dropped out or are at the risk of dropping out and keep a record of the follow-up actions taken
- Identify and refer child protection and child safeguarding cases
- Collect data on required assessments (Pre/Post Assessments)
- Ensure all project data records including registration sheets, attendance sheets, evaluation documents etc. are submitted to center coordinator on time
- Design lesson plans for BLN sessions
- Develop IEPs for children when needed
- Conduct formative assessments for children during implementation period to track improvement and adjust the support in a timely and individualized manner
- Respect and commit to internal policies and procedure including Child Safeguarding, code of conduct, dressing code
Qualifications and Relevant Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in education or equivalent
- 1 to 2 years working experience in primary education/ teaching
- Previous experience with out of school children
- Capable of dealing with children with poor academic performance
- Ability to work under pressure
- Fluency in Arabic and French or English Language
