Background to the assignment:
The Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Department provides MHPSS consultations through its case management teams located in Bekaa, South, Akkar, Akkar, Beirut and Mount Lebanon. Additionally, it provides awareness sessions on mental health topics, and community support group activities, mental health trainings, and coordination with the National Mental Health Program, with the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) for the integration of mental health into primary healthcare.
Purpose of the assignment:
The purpose of this scope of work is to support the procurement of the services of a Psychological First Aid Trainer of Trainers.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Training preparation:
- Attend preparatory meetings with the NMHP and WHO related to the training materials prior to the trainings
- Training Delivery:
- Deliver training to participants based on the National PFA (ToT) training materials developed between the NMHP and WHO, equipping them with the essential skills needed to train others in PFA.
- Facilitate training sessions using participatory methods that engage participants and enhance their understanding and facilitation skills in PFA.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to participants, ensuring their competence in delivering PFA sessions.
- Post Training including supervision:
- Analyze and review the results of the pre-post tests
- Conduct follow-up evaluations to assess the effectiveness of the PFA programs delivered by trained participants.
- Develop comprehensive reports on training activities, impact, and provide recommendations for program enhancements.
- Support participants in implementing PFA within their own contexts and communities, ensuring best practices and high-quality delivery.
- Implement a structured supervision framework to oversee and support trainees as they begin to deliver PFA sessions independently.
- Comprehensive feedback reports on the effectiveness of the training sessions.
Deliverables Description:
Training reports - After each training delivered - Payments will be based on completion of and International Medical Corps acceptance of deliverables.

Location: Consultant resides in Lebanon and will conduct work in Beirut
Consultant Specifications:
To perform this consultancy successfully, an individual must be able to perform each task with or without reasonable accommodation.
Education:
- Required: Master’s degree in psychology, other mental health, or a related field.
- Required: A training certificate related to ToT delivery
- Familiarity with international PFA guidelines and best practices, such as those developed by the World Health Organization (WHO)
Experience:

- Minimum of 6-8 overall years of professional experience.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in delivering training programs, preferably in psychological first aid, mental health, or psychosocial support.
- Previous experience in a trainer of trainers (ToT) role or similar capacity-building position is highly desirable.
Skills:

- Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate participants.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse groups.
- Proficient in training delivery and evaluation.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Languages:
- Proficiency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.

- Payment
Payments are delivery-based. Any deliverable not meeting the required specifications will have to be reworked and resubmitted at no additional cost.
- The proposed payment schedule for this assignment (total budget) Varies based on trainings delivered. 350 USD/training day, 150 USD/4 hours of supervision per training, during trainings provided by trainees.
- To be paid (e.g daily, monthly, end of assignment, on a specific date): Payment to be paid based on deliverables.
- International Medical Corps shall pay Consultant at hourly, daily, monthly rate. Based on trainings delivered.
- Minimum hours per day: N/A and Maximum hours per day: N/A
Payments are made upon submission of progress reports on completed tasks, outlined against planned outputs. Based on the report and satisfactory performance, payments will be certified by the supervisor.
- Title Rights
International Medical Corps shall be entitled to all property rights including but not limited to patents, copyrights and trademarks with regard to material, which bears a direct relation to, or is made in consequence of, the services provided to the organization by the consultant.
- Insurance
Consultants are fully responsible for arranging, at their own expense, such life, health and other forms of insurance covering their period of service on behalf of International Medical Corps as they consider appropriate. Consultants are not eligible to participate in life or health insurance schemes available to International Medical Corps employees
- Taxation
International Medical Corps undertake no liability for taxes, duty or other contributions payable by the consultant on payments under this contract.
7. Termination of Contract
Either party may terminate this contract before the expiry date of the contract by giving notice in writing to the other party.
The period of notice shall be 5 days in case of contract less than 2 months duration and 30 days in the case of contracts for longer periods; provided however that the in the event of termination on the grounds of misconduct or the in the event of termination on the grounds of misconduct or poor performance by the consultant, International Medical Corps shall be entitled to terminate the contract without notice.
In the event of the contract being terminated prior to its due expiry date, the consultant shall be compensated pro rata for no more than the actual amount of work performed to the satisfaction of International Medical Corps.
Code of Conduct
