Project Coordinator

DCL is currently seeking "Emergency Project Coordinator" to be responsible for overseeing and coordinating emergency response activities focused on meal distribution in schools and shelters in North Lebanon and Akkar areas, supporting Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). This position involves regular monitoring of distribution activities, detailed planning of daily field visits, and robust follow-up on all community feedback. Working closely with the team, donor representatives, and key stakeholders, the Emergency Project Coordinator ensures that all project activities align with DCL’s emergency response framework and meet the highest standards of accountability and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and monitor daily meal distribution activities in schools and shelters, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of delivery processes and that all beneficiaries are reached effectively.
  • Develop and implement daily field visit plans to schools and shelters within North and Akkar. Ensure these visits are structured to capture detailed insights, assess needs, and address challenges promptly.
  • Design and implement a transparent feedback and complaints mechanism. Regularly collect, analyze, and respond to feedback from beneficiaries, adjusting activities as needed to improve service quality and ensure community satisfaction.
  • Serve as the focal point for communication with donors, community leaders, local authorities, and partner organizations, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned with project goals. Participate actively in relevant meetings and discussions.
  • Provide guidance and support to field staff involved in meal distribution monitoring, ensuring adherence to project standards and protocols. Facilitate regular team meetings to address issues, discuss field insights, and update on project developments.
  • Collect and maintain accurate records of distribution data and feedback logs. Prepare detailed reports for the project manager, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and actionable insights.
  • Proactively identify and resolve logistical, operational, and coordination challenges impacting project activities. Work closely with the project manager to adjust plans and resources based on evolving field conditions and beneficiary needs.
  • Ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with DCL guidelines, donor requirements, and local regulations. This includes maintaining compliance with child safeguarding, protection standards, and best practices in emergency response.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Sciences, Management, Humanitarian Studies). A Master’s degree or additional certifications in emergency response is an asset.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a coordination or supervisory role, particularly in emergency or humanitarian settings, ideally within NGOs.
  • Experience in managing projects in underserved or remote areas (knowledge of North and Akkar regions preferred).
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with data management software.
  • Strong reporting, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Fluent in both English and Arabic (spoken and written).
  • Valid driving license and access to a vehicle for frequent travel within the project areas.
