Food Security and Livelihoods Assistant - Beirut

The Opportunity

The Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) Assistant will ensure the establishment of FSL systems, and ensure that humanitarian needs, by our own staff and/or as a result of how we do our work, are identified and addressed on an ongoing basis. S/he will report and respond to interventions as determined by his/her position and responsibilities identified in Save the Children International (SCI) strategy.

The role holder will be responsible of the provision of daily/weekly reports. Moreover, S/he will be responsible for non-food items (NFIs), food items (FIs), cash distribution, outreach activities, assessments, verification, and post distribution monitoring (PDM).

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

  • Bachelor degree in economic development, social sciences, business development or related field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in development programs, preferably working in food security & livelihoods, and with experience with distributions.
  • Experience in field work, cash, livelihood, and development projects.
  • Experience in conducting training and sensitization sessions for communities and beneficiaries.
  • Experience in cash and voucher programming.
  • Experience in distribution activities. 
  • Experience in Food Security and Livelihoods in emergencies.
  • Advanced computer skills especially in excel. 
  • Strength in interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. 
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English
  • Flexibility and willingness to change work practices and hours, and capability to work in insecure environment.
  • Familiarity with the Beirut, Mount Lebanon, and South region.
  • Available to travel in country.
  • Familiarity with refugee communities in country of operation.
