Education Officer

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation of education activities in designated project locations.
  • Ensure that all educational activities align with project goals and comply with relevant national and international standards.
  • Support the development and adaptation of curriculum and teaching materials, ensuring relevance to the target audience.
  • Coordinate the delivery of remedial and alternative education programs, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for all students.
  • Supervise and support teachers, facilitators, and other education staff in implementing high-quality teaching practices.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor educational activities and provide technical support.
  • Collect and analyse data on program implementation and learning outcomes to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in preparing progress reports, success stories, and evaluation summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with partners, schools, and local authorities to ensure the smooth implementation of education activities.
  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops for teachers and facilitators as needed.
  • Represent the project in education-related meetings, workshops, and coordination forums.
  • Maintain accurate records of program activities, beneficiaries, and resources.
  • Assist in budget tracking and resource allocation to ensure effective use of funds.
  • Support the Project Manager in preparing and presenting periodic reports to donors and stakeholders.

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Social Sciences, or a related field (Master’s degree is preferred).
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in education project implementation, preferably in emergency or development settings.
  • Familiarity with national and international education policies and frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development and pedagogy.
  • Experience in teacher training and capacity-building programs.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting tools.
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Office Suite and relevant educational software).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong organizational, Reporting and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to challenging environments.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required.
  • Travel within the country during the emergency crises (North Bekaa, Tripoli, Beirut)
