Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Communications & Brand Stewardship:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy aligned with SmartGov’s mission and goals.
- Ensure consistent messaging and brand positioning across all platforms.
- Highlight SmartGov’s project achievements and identify meaningful contributions for external audiences.
- Craft and execute media strategies to secure national and international coverage.
- Proactively identify opportunities for SmartGov’s leadership to build reputational awareness through media relations and public appearances.
2. Digital Content Creation & Management:
- Lead digital engagement efforts by creating compelling content for social media, blogs, and email newsletters.
- Oversee regular updates to SmartGov’s website, ensuring it is engaging, user-friendly, and reflective of ongoing organizational efforts.
- Utilize data-driven insights to enhance audience engagement and improve content performance across all digital platforms.
- Track performance metrics and refine content strategies based on analytics.
3. Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships:
- Collaborate with internal teams, program participants, and external partners to craft impactful communication strategies.
- Ensure compliance with organizational branding guidelines and ensure consistent visibility across all projects.
- Report on the effectiveness and impact of communication activities through structured metrics and insights.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, or Graphic Design, or Public Relations, or Marketing, or Journalism, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in communications, media relations, or public affairs, preferably in a nonprofit, government, or tech-focused organization.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to craft clear, persuasive, and impactful messaging.
- Proficiency in digital tools and platforms, including social media management tools, website content management systems (CMS), and email marketing software.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using performance metrics and insights to refine strategies.
- Preferred Experience in media relations, securing press coverage, and managing relationships with journalists and media outlets.
- A strong understanding of brand management and the ability to ensure consistent messaging.
- Creativity and a keen eye for detail, ensuring all content meets high standards of quality and professionalism.
- Commitment to the values of transparency, accountability, and social impact.
Preferred Skills: - Background or experience working with innovation organizations that work in public affairs.
- Knowledge of agile methodologies for project execution.
- Graphic design or video editing skills to support visual content creation.
