MEAL Officer – Part Time

Position’s mission:

Lebanon, reporting to the MEAL Senior Officer, the MEAL Officer ensures the implementation of MEAL data collection especially data from PDMs and Field spot checks.

Interacts with: Project staff, Information Management Officer and Accountability and Learning Officer  

Missions / Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Responsibility 1: Plan and coordinate MEAL-related tasks for distributions and MHPSS awareness sessions

• Ensure updated knowledge of the work plan for distributions and MHPSS sessions in coordination with project staff.
• Regularly communicate with the Senior MEAL Officer and project teams to integrate MEAL activities into project workflows.
• Ensure that MEAL tasks adhere to timelines and donor requirements.

Responsibility 2: Conduct field spot checks when required

• Perform spot checks during activities implementation if needed.
• Document observations and provide actionable feedback to Senior MEAL Officer.

Responsibility 3: Implement Post-Distribution Monitoring (PDMs) processes

•             Conduct PDM surveys by phone or in the field, as needed, to gather beneficiary feedback.

•             Conduct Focus group discussions with beneficiaries.

•             Ensure accurate and timely data collection through standardized tools and methodologies.

•             Summarize findings and trends from PDM data for reporting purposes.

Responsibility 4: Support data integrity and reporting within MEAL frameworks

•             Ensure all data collected is accurate, complete, and uploaded to the designated systems (e.g., Survey CTO).

•             Collaborate with the Information Management Officer to verify and clean data.

•             Support the preparation of MEAL reports, including analysis of PDM and spot check data.

Education:

-              Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Studies, or a related field.

Experience:

-              Essential:  Minimum of 2 years of experience in MEAL, particularly in humanitarian or development contexts.

-              Proficiency in MS Office and MEAL software/tools (e.g., Kobo Toolbox, ODK, Survey CTO).

-              Familiarity with data collection platforms.

Language:

-              Essential: Proficiency in Arabic and English (written and spoken).

 Cross-sector skills:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with staff and beneficiaries.

Basic salary ranges for the position: MEAL Officer part time is going to be paid according to the experience and to HI salary Grid.
