Assignment Context:
The UNV should support the delivery of the below outputs:

• Finalizing the 10th National Development Plan (NDP) Assessment: Assisting in the final revisions and ensuring the timely completion of the mid-term assessment for the 10th NDP.
• Supporting the Upcoming XB Project with Oman: Contributing to the deliverables of the upcoming market study on the building sector in Oman, including research, data analysis, and support in drafting project outputs.
• Assisting in Research Deliverables for the Team: Contribute to the preparation of team outputs for planning and competition projects by assisting in the development of research and technical materials, ensuring high quality and alignment with the team’s objectives.

Task description:
Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Economics Affairs Officer or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer will:

• Conduct in-depth research and analysis to support ongoing and planned XB projects, including the mid-term review of the 10th National Development Plan (NDP) and the upcoming market study for the building sector in Oman.
• Gather, evaluate, and process data using appropriate tools and software; maintain and update databases to ensure reliability and accuracy.
• Perform detailed research by integrating information from diverse sources to develop various documents, including background papers, technical reports, and publications.
• Actively participate in meetings, provide comprehensive project updates, and integrate feedback to drive effective decision-making and ensure the successful execution of project objectives.
• Communicate and collaborate with ESCWA departments, particularly CSS, to align outputs with goals.
• Support the creation of presentations, charts, and visual materials to effectively communicate insights and progress related to XB projects and other team activities.
• Evaluate and verify the accuracy, clarity, and validity of data sets and information.
• Maintain and update an organized body of electronic reference files to enable quick access to critical information.
• Perform additional tasks and ad hoc assignments as requested by the supervisor.

Required Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis and research is required.

Living Conditions and other Remarks:
As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. This position is based in (Beirut). National UN Volunteers are part of the malicious insurance plan. National UN Volunteers are expected to be culturally sensitive and adjust to the prevailing culture and traditions.
