Assignment Context:
The UNV should support the delivery of the below outputs:

• Finalizing the 10th National Development Plan (NDP) Assessment: Assisting in the final revisions and ensuring the timely completion of the mid-term assessment for the 10th NDP.

• Supporting the Upcoming XB Project with Oman: Contributing to the deliverables of the upcoming market study on the building sector in Oman, including research, data analysis, and support in drafting project outputs.

• Supporting Research and Team Deliverables: Contribute to the preparation of deliverables for planning and competition projects, including activities related to the Sixth Arab Competition Forum, and assist in developing research and technical materials aligned with these project objectives and other team outputs

Task description:
Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Economics Affairs Officer or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer will:

• Conduct in-depth research and analysis to support ongoing and planned XB projects, including the mid-term review of the 10th National Development Plan (NDP) and the upcoming market study for the building sector in Oman.
• Collect, review, and analyze data using suitable tools and software; ensure databases are regularly updated and maintained for accuracy and dependability.
• Conduct comprehensive research by synthesizing information from various sources to assist in producing documents including background papers, technical reports, and publications.
• Engage actively in meetings, deliver detailed project updates, and incorporate feedback to support informed decision-making and ensure the successful achievement of project goals.
• Communicate and collaborate with ESCWA departments, particularly CSS, to align outputs with goals.
• Create presentations, charts, and visual materials to effectively communicate insights and progress related to XB projects and other team activities.
• Evaluate and verify the accuracy, clarity, and validity of data sets and information.
• Maintain and update an organized body of electronic reference files to enable quick access to critical information.
• Perform additional tasks and ad hoc assignments as requested by the supervisor.

Required Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis and research is required.

Living Conditions and other Remarks:
As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. This position is based in (Beirut). National UN Volunteers are part of the malicious insurance plan. National UN Volunteers are expected to be culturally sensitive and adjust to the prevailing culture and traditions.
