Grants Manager

 

The Grants Manager will oversee the full grants lifecycle for Embrace, from prospecting and proposal development to grant implementation, compliance, and reporting. The role will focus on securing funding from international and local donors, including governments, multilateral organizations, private foundations, and corporations, to ensure Embrace’s sustainability and programmatic growth.

 

1.  MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Grant Prospecting and Proposal Development

  • Identify and research funding opportunities aligned with Embrace’s mission and strategic priorities.
  • Lead the development of compelling proposals, concept notes, and budgets in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Maintain a pipeline of grant opportunities and submission timelines.
  • Coordinate with program, finance, and communications teams to align proposals with operational capabilities and strategic goals.

Grant Management and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with donor regulations and requirements throughout the grant lifecycle.
  • Develop and implement tools for tracking grant deliverables, expenditures, and deadlines.
  • Work closely with the Finance team to monitor budget utilization and prepare financial reports for donors.
  • Provide technical support to program teams to meet donor expectations and maintain high-quality deliverables.

Reporting and Relationship Management

  • Prepare and submit narrative and financial reports to donors in a timely manner.
  • Maintain effective communication and relationships with current and prospective donors.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for donor queries, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Represent Embrace in donor meetings and external grant-related events as needed.

Capacity Building and Internal Coordination

  • Train and mentor staff on grant management best practices and donor requirements.
  • Collaborate with departments to ensure alignment on objectives, resource allocation, and timelines.
  • Contribute to the development of organizational policies related to grants, compliance, and reporting.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL)

  • Support the MEL team in developing grant-specific monitoring frameworks and indicators.
  • Ensure that grant outcomes and impact are documented and used to inform future proposals.
  • Facilitate lessons-learned sessions to improve grant processes and donor engagement.

 

2.  QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Critical Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in grants management, fundraising, or donor relations, preferably within the non-profit or development sector.
  • Proven track record of securing large-scale grants from institutional donors, foundations, and/or corporations.
  • Experience with project budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance.
  • Proficient in grants management systems (GMS platform- etools- DIV portal) and Microsoft Office Tools (Word- Excel- PowerPoint)

 

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong proposal writing and editing skills.
  • Knowledge of donor regulations and requirements (e.g., EU, USAID, UN agencies, etc.).
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic (both written and spoken) is required.
