Application Submission Guidelines

Oversees and supervises the implementation of Health Programme policies and interventions, and formalizes structures, in relation to mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), as well as Health staff responses to child protection (CP), gender-based violence (GBV), disability inclusion, and cross-cutting processes including agency-wide referral and reporting systems, in an efficient manner to ensure access to quality care for beneficiaries.

Conducts regular field visits, including UNRWA health centers and area offices, to ensure thequality of services, provide technical and logistics support; and address emerging challenges.

Monitors clinical mental health trends at Field level to identify areas of needs, gaps, strengths, challenges or unsatisfactory performance, and coordinates corrective actions with the HC and area teams to capitalize on potential improvement opportunities.

Supports the capacity building and professional development of health staff on MHPSS, CP, GBV, disability inclusion and referrals, through trainings, workshops, peer support groups and on-job coaching, monitoring and technical support; based on best practice principles, UNRWA policies, as well as relevant national and international guidelines.

Provides guidance and support on referral pathways and procedures related to MHPSS, CP, GBV and disability inclusion, internally within the Health Programme, to other UNRWA Programmes, or to external partners.

Coordinates with Field Pharmaceutical Services Officer to follow-up on availability of psychotropic medications at UNRWA health centers.

Plans and coordinates prevention, advocacy and community engagement initiatives on MHPSS, CP, GBV and disability inclusion, in coordination with health staff, UNRWA departments and external partners if needed.

Liaises and maintains contacts with the respective NGOs, community leaders, governmental organizations and other relevant inter-agency coordination bodies, to enhance coordination and responses to mental health and cross-cutting needs.

Prepares reports for MHPSS, CP, GBV and disability inclusion; advocates for inclusion of relevant indicators into the general Health Information Systems; and carries out reporting, data collation and analysis functions as needed.

Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
