Curricular Module Writer

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Writer include:

• *Content Development: * Write, edit, and revise educational modules that align with curriculum standards and learning objectives.
• *Research:* Conduct thorough research to ensure accuracy and currency of content

• *Collaboration:* includes working closely with the team to design and develop two curricular units on the history of the civil war.

• *Feedback Incorporation:* Revise modules based on feedback from peers, subject matter experts, and learners to improve content quality.
• *Quality Assurance:* Ensure that all materials are free of errors, well-structured, and accessible to all learners.

• Each module will comprise 2 – 4 lessons and will focus on addressing controversial history, particularly related to the civil war.
• The module is constructed around an inquiry question, is experiential and collaborative, includes multiple and varied learning engagements that address learning needs, include a variety of sources, is student-friendly, and age appropriate).
• The modules advance disciplinary approaches (Historical thinking, evidence-based learning, Inquiry approach, use of multiple and various sources, addressing multi-perspectivity, ….).
• The modules will seek to address the gender imbalance in historical narratives, and to ensure conflict sensitivity.

The Writer will carry out his/her tasks in close coordination with the educational expert and project team.

Qualifications

The Writer  should have the following qualifications:

• Proven experience in developing educational units.
• Proven experience in coordination.
• Background in history education.
• Strong communication and research skills.
• Knowledge of the subject matter and willingness to further familiarize oneself with the topic.

Ability to think outside the box and have creative ideas.
