Position Title: Short Term Assignment Project Manager
Location: Beirut/Mount Lebanon, Lebanon
Reporting To: INJAZ Lebanon’s Finance & Admin Manager & UNDP Senior Economist
Contract Type: Full-Time
Duration: Four Months

Role Overview

The Project Manager will oversee the implementation of a UNDP initiative supporting the Ministry of Finance (MOF) in clearing critical data backlogs to enable effective budget execution analysis. This role involves managing a team of volunteers, ensuring operational efficiency, and coordinating with stakeholders to achieve project deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Project Coordination and Management:
    • Oversee daily operations and manage the implementation of the project in line with the approved work plan.
    • Coordinate closely with the UNDP Country Office, MOF representatives, and INJAZ team
    • Maintain regular communication with UNDP and INJAZ on progress, challenges, and risks.
    • Attend partners’ meetings and collaborate effectively with the team.
    • Undertake other related duties as assigned or requested.
  2. Volunteer Monitoring and Supervising:
    • Coordinate, Supervise and visit the volunteers distributed across MOF institutions and departments for data entry, filing, and IT support.
    • Develop detailed task schedules, ensuring alignment with departmental needs.
    • Monitor volunteers’ work logs, attendance, and task completion and report to them to the quality assurance officer once done
  3. Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare and submit timely narrative/inception reports on project milestones, including the progress and activities of the different departments at the MOF.
    • Compile weekly and monthly progress reports validated by MOF staff and approved by UNDP
    • Ensure the submission of all required deliverables, including the final project report
  4. Budget and Logistics Management:
    • Manage the transportation stipend system for volunteers based on validated attendance logs.
    • Procure necessary supplies to enhance the work environment (e.g., stationery, hygiene products) according to the organization’s guidelines
    • Oversee logistics for project closure events, including venue, materials, and refreshments.
  5. Risk Management:
    • Ensure the safety and suitability of work environments for volunteers.
    • Address challenges related to security, transportation, and compliance with confidentiality agreements.
  6. Conduct other tasks as requested by management

Qualifications and Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred
    • At least 3 years of experience in project management, preferably with UN agencies on MOF related projects
    • Proven experience managing youth programs and large teams
    • Car is a must
    • Strong organizational and coordination abilities
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Familiarity with digital filing systems and data entry processes
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
    • Fluent in Arabic and English (written and spoken)
