Key Responsibilities
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Develop and implement project-specific MEAL frameworks, plans, and tools in line with organizational and donor requirements.
- Design and oversee data collection processes, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and timeliness.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities and ensure adherence to MEAL protocols.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to assess program performance and outcomes.
Accountability
- Establish mechanisms to ensure accountability to beneficiaries, including feedback and complaint systems.
- Facilitate the collection, analysis, and response to feedback from project stakeholders.
- Ensure that data collection and reporting practices respect confidentiality and ethical standards.
Learning
- Document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories from project activities.
- Support teams in using evaluation findings to improve program design and implementation.
- Organize learning events, workshops, and sessions to disseminate insights and findings.
Reporting
- Prepare timely and accurate reports for internal and external stakeholders, including donors and partners.
- Develop dashboards and visualizations to communicate MEAL findings effectively.
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements in terms of reporting formats and deadlines.
Capacity Building
- Train staff and partners on MEAL tools, processes, and best practices.
- Provide ongoing support and mentoring to ensure the effective application of MEAL systems.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning, preferably within the development or humanitarian sector.
- Proficiency in data collection tools such as KoboToolbox and data analysis software such as Excel.
- Strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative data collection methods.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.
Desirable:
- Experience working with NGOs.
- Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.
- Familiarity with sector-specific MEAL frameworks (e.g., Core Humanitarian Standards, Sphere Standards).
