Animator/PSS facilitator

Main tasks and responsibilities

The tasks and responsibilities of the Animator/PSS facilitator are as follows:
Activity Implementation
• Organize and facilitate recreational activities, including sports, games, art, music, and drama, that contribute to children's emotional well-being and resilience as entry point to CP activities.
• Adapt activities to suit the needs of various age groups (3-5 years, 6-12 years, and 13-18 years), ensuring inclusivity for children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities.
Psychosocial and Child Protection Support
• Assist Child Protection Officers by identifying children and caregivers who would benefit from psychosocial support and referring them for relevant activities.
• Support the engagement of children and caregivers in psychosocial activities to enhance emotional well-being and resilience.
• Support in conducting psychosocial support activities for children and caregivers.
WASH Awareness Support
• Promote WASH-related awareness through awareness sessions, ensuring children and caregivers understand basic hygiene practices.
• Assist in conducting WASH awareness sessions within the community, encouraging good hygiene practices in alignment with project goals.
Coordination with Community Volunteers
• Coordinate the work of community volunteers involved in data collection and the distribution of materials, ensuring accuracy and consistency in reporting.
• Monitor the performance of volunteers and address any challenges or questions they encounter.
Monitoring and Reporting
• Track attendance and participation rates in activities to assess engagement levels.
• Regularly assess the impact of activities on children's well-being and development.
• Report concerns regarding children’s safety, well-being, or any emerging needs to Child Protection Officers for further action.
• Submit weekly activity reports detailing successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
Other Responsibilities:

• Participate actively in all mandatory trainings provided by AVSI and or the CP sector.
• Participate in the development of technical documents, presentations, and reports and documenting achievements and lessons learned.
• Perform other duties within areas of responsibility as requested by the supervisor.
