CP Officer

Job Responsibilities 

Ensure child protection projects are in line with Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action, gender- and conflict-sensitive. 

Work closely with project coordinator to ensure that activities are implemented in a coordinated and phased manner, in accordance with National SOP's, best practices and the organization’s policies. 

Supervising the facilitators to monitor the project activities in the field and conduct regular meetings with the field teams. 

Provide technical guidance and direction including ongoing training, coaching and mentoring to Makani team members to ensure quality programming in compliance with HAND 's Child Protection standards and policies. 

Conduct regular spot checks to all interventions in the field to ensure CP standards are in place. Provide oversight and supervision for purchasing appropriate technical material 

Plan and provide for Capacity Building for staff to implement all CP project components, behavioural protocols and Safe Identification and Referrals. 

Ensure that ethical and sound data collection and information management systems are in place for appropriate CP analysis, planning, evaluation, and advocacy; 

Undertake regular field monitoring visits to assess progress and identify technical quality issues and/or other implementation issues, provide solutions and implement modifications as required. 

In collaboration with the staff, collects and documents the needed information for the databases for reports, research, monitoring and evaluation purposes. 

Coordinate closely with the Case management supervisor to improve the quality of Child Protection intervention and activities. 

Coordinate closely with the Education Coordinator and other project management team to ensure adherence to CP minimum standards, and compliance with sector guidance 

Provide updates and reports on child protection activities to HAND management team. 

Participate in Child Protection Working Group, Child Labor Task Force, and other relevant coordination entities, when needed. 

Attend regular calls, meetings, etc. as required by HAND management team. 

Coordinate and/or implement training and briefing For HAND team members, contractors and other key stakeholders on child protection, child safeguarding and/or related issues. 

Support in AND’s activities when needed.

Position Requirements and Qualifications: 

Minimum 3 years of professional experience in child protection work in humanitarian or refugee settings. 

Bachelor’s degree in social work, social sciences, psychology or other related field. 

Strong experience in child protection in humanitarian or refugee settings, community-based child protection and child and youth participation required. 

Good facilitation skills and ability to deliver induction briefing/trainings. 

Excellent skills in project design, time management, and problem solving. 

Flexible work attitude and ability to work independently within a small team. 

Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse and cross-cultural audience;
