Makani Project Coordinator - Akkar & Shatila ( Pending Funding )

Job Location: Based in Akkar with frequent Visits to Shatila.

Reports To: Lebanon Head of Programs

Job Purpose: The Makani Project Coordinator leads the planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation of the Makani program. The coordinator works to enhance children's and youth's access to education, child protection, and psychosocial support services. The coordinator collaborates with local partners and stakeholders to ensure the program's success in achieving its goals.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the setup and operation of Makani centers, providing educational, recreational, and psychosocial services for children and youth.
  • Develop detailed work plans, ensure timely delivery of activities, and ensure proper resource allocation.
  • Lead the development and execution of the Makani program, ensuring it meets the needs of children and families
  • Supervise and support staff members and partners involved in implementing the Makani program.
  • Providing technical support to all project staff members.
  • Creating work plans, risk assessments, and follow-up on all project activities and budget expenditures.
  • Manage program budgets and resources efficiently to ensure the sustainability of activities.
  • Liaising and coordinating directly with the training partner who will be building the capacity of staff members, and taking feedback from both parties for improvements and modifications.
  • Ensuring all training platforms or venues are ready and prepared with follow-up on all participants.
  • Ensure that all Makani activities adhere to B&Z’s child protection policies, ensuring a safe and protective environment for children.
  • Implement mechanisms for identifying and responding to child protection concerns and risks.
  • Ensuring coordination with teachers, coordinators, and protection for all activities.
  • Following up with the safeguarding focal person on the revision of the B&Z safeguarding policy.
  • Communicate directly with donors and attend all partner meetings.
  • Monitor and track the progress of program activities to ensure they meet objectives, timelines, and budget.
  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate the impact of the program on children and communities.
  • Prepare reports on program activities, achievements, challenges, and lessons learned for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Establish connections with local communities and key persons for social events.
  • Any other tasks requested by the line manager.

Education & Experience:

  • 3 years of job experience relevant to the function, in a comparable environment with non-governmental organizations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience in delivering tasks according to tight deadlines.
  • Previous experience in managing a team
  • Previous experience in working with refugees and vulnerable communities
  • Good skills in anticipating problems and developing solutions.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to deal with administration and documentation.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to rural field locations.
  • Knowledge of English written and spoken.
  • Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel as well as accounting packages & other database competencies.
  • Working knowledge of a range of donor rules and regulations.
