Accountability and Complexity
The job holder:
Will be responsible for making decisions regarding vulnerability assessments and the selection of eligible households, ensuring accuracy, fairness, and transparency throughout the process.
Is required to promptly report any suspected cases of fraud or misconduct.
Should develop SBC sessions that are culturally sensitive and tailored to the needs of the target population.
Will collaborate closely with the Nutrition Coordinator and team members to meet project goals, ensuring adherence to deadlines and successful delivery of key outcomes.
Cash-For-Nutrition
Identify and register families eligible for the cash-for-nutrition program in close coordination with RI team members
Coordinate with different stakeholders to receive referrals of vulnerable families eligible for cash assistance, such as the ministry of social affair, malnutrition treatment centers and other health and nutrition actors.
Coordinate with the Nutrition Coordinator and MEAL team to prepare the vulnerability assessment tool
Conduct vulnerability assessments to determine household eligibility based on established criteria
Work closely with the Nutrition Assistant and local stakeholders to ensure a transparent and inclusive identification process
Organize and facilitate validation exercises to verify participants' documents and provide information about the CFN program
Ensure accurate documentation of participant IDs and relevant documents
Monitor the usage of cash transfers by engaging beneficiaries in open discussions during SBC sessions
SBC sessions
Develop the curriculum for SBC sessions
Plan and deliver SBC sessions focused on maternal and child nutrition, jointly with the nutrition assistant
Prepare PRs for venue rentals needed to facilitate SBC sessions
Identify pregnant and breastfeeding women (PBW) and children requiring additional services and refer them accordingly
Team Management
Conduct routine supervision to the day-to-day work of the nutrition assistant
Set monthly targets and monitor the achievements on regular basis
Propose improvements for more effective implementation of activities
Represent RI in meetings and workshops whenever asked by the nutrition coordinator
Reporting and monitoring
Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of activities, including beneficiary lists, vulnerability assessment data, and SBC session attendance
Provide regular updates to the Nutrition Coordinator on progress, challenges, and successes
Support in tracking project indicators and preparing reports for donors and stakeholders
Nutrition Supplies
Supervise and manage the stock of nutrition supplies
Ensure the timely requisition and distribution nutritional supplements and rations for targeted age groups: Multiple Micronutrient Powders, Multiple Micronutrient Supplements, complementary feeding kits, etc.
Capacity building
Provide nutrition trainings to program staff and CHWs as needed
Provide on-the-job coaching to team members
Behavior and conduct
Ensures that behavior inside and outside of work promotes the values in RI’s code of conduct and safeguarding policies
Acts with integrity and holds themselves accountable for being respectful, inclusive and professional
