Nutrition Assistant - North

Accountability and Complexity 

The job holder will operate independently while maintaining clear and open communication with team members. 

A strong emphasis on discretion and transparency is essential. 

 

Cash for nutrition 

Support the nutrition officer to identify and register families eligible for the cash-for-nutrition program 

Conduct vulnerability assessments to determine household eligibility based on established criteria 

Gather digital records of registered participants during assessments 

Assist the nutrition officer in organizing and facilitating validation exercises 

Establish and manage WhatsApp groups to maintain regular communication with selected participants 

 

SBC sessions  

Deliver SBC sessions to CFN participants, with a focus on maternal and child nutrition 

Identify individuals requiring specialized counseling and refer them to the lactation specialist 

Ensure that CHWs screen all children under five and pregnant or breastfeeding women (PBW) for acute malnutrition 

Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of activities, including beneficiary lists, vulnerability assessment data, and SBC session attendance 

 

Team management 

Plan and oversee the daily activities of the CHWs 

Establish monthly targets and regularly monitor progress toward achieving them 

Monitor the stock of nutrition supplies 

Ensure the timely distribution of nutrition supplements 

Compile and submit supporting documentation for all distributions 

 

Capacity building 

Build the capacity of the CHWs as needed 

Offer on-the-job coaching and guidance to team members. 

 

Behavior and conduct  

Ensures that behavior inside and outside of work promotes the values in RI’s code of conduct and safeguarding policies  

Acts with integrity and holds themselves accountable for being respectful, inclusive and professional
