Facilitator

Background:
As part of the project "Boosting Women’s Participation in Lebanon through Syndicate Leadership," RDFL is organizing a one-day workshop for the selected syndicate to conduct a capacity assessment. This workshop aims to evaluate the current status of the syndicate, identify capacity gaps, and develop strategies for strengthening women’s leadership within the organization.
The primary objective of this workshop is to engage 10 key board members and active members of the syndicate in discussions to assess the syndicate's current structures, challenges, and capacity-building needs. The insights from this workshop will inform the project’s approach in supporting the syndicate’s development.

Scope of Work:
The facilitator will be responsible for:

  1. Preparation Phase:
    • Develop a workshop agenda and methodology tailored to the needs of the syndicate.
    • Prepare interactive facilitation materials, discussion guides, and assessment tools.
    • Coordinate with project coordinator to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  2. Workshop Implementation:
    • Facilitate the one-day workshop, ensuring inclusive and engaging discussions.
    • Guide participants in identifying key strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges within the syndicate.
    • Use participatory approaches to assess capacity gaps and areas for development.
    • Document key discussions, findings, and recommendations.
  3. Post-Workshop Reporting:
    • Provide a concise report summarizing key findings, identified capacity needs, and suggested action points.
    • Offer recommendations for follow-up activities and capacity-building initiatives.

Deliverables:

  • Workshop agenda and facilitation materials (prior to the event).
  • Well-facilitated one-day workshop.
  • Post-workshop report with key findings and recommendations.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in facilitating capacity assessment workshops, particularly in labor rights, syndicates, or gender equality.
  • Strong understanding of trade unions, syndicate governance, and labor rights frameworks in Lebanon.
  • Experience working on gender issues and women’s leadership.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Fluency in Arabic; knowledge of English is an asset.
