Social Worker

Social Worker
Division:
Project Department - food security
Reporting to:
- Project manager
Coordinates with:
- Project manager
- Relevant team members as assigned by the Project Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in coordinating and documenting workers schedules and attendance.
- Provide support and guidance for workers in kitchen.
- Coordinate logistics for meal distribution, including transportation and equipment.
- Support the organization and execution of information sessions on breastfeeding.
- Ensure that all distribution sheets are well-signed in the field.
- Contribute to data collection for project monitoring and evaluation.
- Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders.
- Engage with community members to enhance project participation and
understanding.
- Address challenges and issues during project implementation, collaborating for
effective solutions.
Cooperation and Contact:
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders including
partner agencies, community leaders and service providers in the target areas for
prompt referral, follow up and information sharing.

Qualification:
Education and Experience:
- Applicant must have a protection or outreach background with at least 2 years’
experience in emergency response or the voluntary sector is preferred but not
essential.
- University degree in human rights, social work, migration, international relations, development or a related topic.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills, including proficiency in using office productivity
software.
- Familiarity with the context and specific needs of the target population or the
community being served is beneficial.
Language Ability: (Arabic, English)
Arabic: Read, Spoken and Written
English: Read, Spoken and Written

Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with beneficiaries and
community members in a respectful and empathetic manner.
- Ability to assist and support other team members.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving environment.
- Ability to respond flexibly to changing demands routines and procedures; receptive to
change.
- Ability to manage conflicts, prioritize work, and manage reports.
- Good report writing skills.

 Work Environment:
While performing his/her duties the Social Workermight be exposed to environmental and
physical hazards such as bad weather conditions, long sitting periods, long computer
interaction periods, wet and/or humid conditions, precarious equipment and working areas,
fumes, miscellaneous weather conditions, lifting heavy items, loud noise and airborne
particles.
