Livelihood counsellor

LOST is seeking to recruit a Livelihood counsellor to support in “Women Empowerment through Livelihood” project.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of beneficiaries' needs and aspirations.
  • Develop individualized livelihood plans tailored to the strengths and needs of each beneficiary.
  • Identify potential livelihood opportunities and market trends relevant to the beneficiaries.
  • Design training programs on vocational skills, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and other relevant topics.
  • Organize workshops, and group training sessions to build the capacity of beneficiaries.
  • Provide one-on-one counseling to beneficiaries to support their personal and professional development.
  • Offer ongoing support and mentorship to help beneficiaries overcome challenges and stay motivated.
  • Connect beneficiaries with local businesses, cooperatives, and markets to enhance their economic opportunities.
  • Track the progress of beneficiaries and document their achievements and challenges.
  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of livelihood indicators.
  • Build relationships with community leaders and stakeholders to gain support for livelihood initiatives.
  • Facilitate community meetings and participatory activities to ensure programs are community-driven and sustainable.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Social Science, or any other related field.
  • 3 years of experience in related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with team members.
  • Ability to show a positive and collaborative approach toward diversity.
  • Flexibility and ability to deal with cultural differences.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic.

NB: LOST has zero tolerance for Sexual Exploitation and Abuse of beneficiaries. Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) is everyone’s responsibility and all staff are required to adhere to the code of conduct, that enshrines the principles of PSEA, always (Both during work hours and outside work hours). Familiarization with, and adherence to, the code of conduct is an essential requirement of all staff, in addition to related mandatory training. All staff must ensure that they understand and act in accordance with this clause.
