About MOSAIC:

MOSAIC is a holistic organization committed to improving the health and wellness of LGBTIQ persons in Lebanon and beyond. Through its national presence and regional networks in the MENA region, MOSAIC aims to foster the coexistence of people of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities (SOGI) within inclusive communities and national systems. Founded by LGBTIQ activists and legal and health experts, MOSAIC provides comprehensive services, advocates for policy reform, builds knowledge and capacities on SOGI issues, and engages both LGBTIQ and heterosexual individuals in the fight against homophobia.

Consultancy Overview:

MOSAIC is seeking a Legal Trainer (Consultant) to conduct legal awareness sessions targeting LGBTIQ persons and allies. The consultant will be responsible for delivering 15 training sessions across three different groups, covering key legal topics related to human rights and protections in Lebanon. 

Key Training Topics:

• General Human Rights: Overview of fundamental rights and protections under International and Lebanese law.
• Criminalization of LGBTIQ persons under Article 534: Understanding the legal framework, implications, and advocacy strategies.
• Know Your Rights: Legal guidance in case of arrest, blackmail, eviction, or other threats.
• Referrals in Lebanon: Overview of legal aid, helplines, and emergency support services available.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver interactive training sessions tailored to LGBTIQ persons and allies.
• Provide clear, accessible legal information on the above topics.
• Facilitate discussions and case studies to enhance participants' understanding.
• Share referral pathways and available support services for legal aid and protection.
• Provide support material to beneficiaries and organisation
• Provide final report, including key findings and recommendations.

Qualifications:

• Background in law, human rights, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of Lebanese laws affecting LGBTIQ persons and human rights frameworks.
• Experience in legal training, capacity building, or community engagement.
• Ability to deliver engaging and accessible legal education to diverse audiences.
• Experience working with marginalized communities, particularly LGBTIQ individuals, is a plus.
