WFP Lebanon Emergency Response: External Situation Report 16 - 14 February 2025

HIGHLIGHTS

• Since the ceasefire, WFP has provided emergency cash and in-kind food assistance to 580,500 people in addition to its regular programmes- bringing the total people assisted in January to 1.41 million, across both regular and emergency programmes.

• Due to funding shortfalls, WFP is compelled to reduce the number of Syrian refugees receiving cash assistance by 40 percent in February, with a potential reduction of up to 70 percent by April if no additional funding is secured. The number of vulnerable Lebanese assisted through cash is also expected to decrease by 40 percent by April 2025. WFP will continue to adjust assistance based on available resources, prioritizing the most vulnerable in coordination with partners.

• The fifth Integrated Phase Classification (IPC) Analysis in Lebanon highlighted an increase in food insecurity after the escalation of conflict. 1.6 million people are projected to face acute food insecurity between December 2024 and March 2025.
