MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Case Plan and Beneficiary support
- Support the Lifeline Social Worker by assisting in conducting psychosocial assessments for cases referred to the social work department. This involves learning the process of assessment and understanding the psychosocial needs of individuals in crisis.
- Assist in developing case plans, including follow-up tasks, referrals, and monitoring the progress of individuals referred to other NGOs. The intern will be involved in tracking cases to ensure the continuity of care and that all necessary services are provided.
- Assist in tracking the responsiveness and reliability of service providers by maintaining records of their involvement in cases.
- Aid in maintaining accurate and confidential records for all beneficiaries.
- Assist in compiling monthly reports, detailing cases referred, opened, and closed.
Service Mapping
- Assist in updating the Referral Database (Service Map): Support the Lifeline Social Worker in regularly updating the referral database with information about NGOs, hospitals, PHCCs, and private professionals. The intern will manage and organize this critical resource to ensure efficient referrals.
- Support the Lifeline Social Worker in coordinating volunteers who are contributing to service mapping efforts
Qualifications:
Educational Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing (3rd year) or recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field. Masters degree is a plus but not a requirement.
Experience:
- Academic experience or exposure in social work, psychology, or a related field.
- Previous volunteer or internship experience in crisis intervention, mental health support, or social work is a plus.
Critical Technical Skills
- Basic knowledge of case management principles and psychosocial assessments.
- Basic knowledge of mental health.
- Knowledge of suicidality is a plus.
- Familiarity with child protection, gender-based violence, and mental health issues through academic or volunteer exposure.
- Basic skills in database management and CRM systems for case tracking (training will be provided).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, for reporting and presentations.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to empathize and learn how to build trust with others.
- Organizational and multitasking skills, with an eagerness to learn how to manage tasks efficiently.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, especially when under supervision or guidance.
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical practices, with the ability to apply these principles in practice.
