Trainer

We are seeking an experienced Advocacy Trainer to deliver an 8-day training program on advocacy strategies, policy influence, and community mobilization for women representatives from NGOs, CSOs, Local Government Authorities, Women Lawyers, Active Community Members, National Government Agencies, and Women Journalists.

The training will be conducted over 4 days in Akkar and 4 days in Tripoli, with a total of two groups (15 participants per group).

Objective of the Assignment:

The primary objectives of the training assignment are to:

  1. Strengthen Advocacy Skills: Equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of advocacy strategies, policy influence, and community mobilization to drive meaningful social and policy change.
  2. Enhance Policy Engagement Abilities: Develop participants’ capacity to analyze, engage, and influence policymaking processes at the local and national levels through evidence-based advocacy.
  3. Improve Stakeholder Collaboration: Provide practical tools for stakeholder mapping, coalition-building, and networking to create strong alliances among NGOs, CSOs, government bodies, and media representatives.
  4. Develop Strategic Advocacy Planning Skills: Train participants on how to design and implement effective advocacy campaigns, including setting objectives, identifying key messages, mobilizing resources, and measuring impact.
  5. Enhance Data-Driven Advocacy Approaches: Equip participants with skills to collect, analyze, and use data effectively to support their advocacy efforts, ensuring evidence-based decision-making and impactful messaging.
  6. Apply Practical Learning Through Real-World Case Studies: Utilize interactive exercises, role-playing, and real-life case studies to enhance participants' ability to navigate policy discussions, legislative processes, and advocacy campaigns.
  7. Assess and Measure Impact: Conduct pre- and post-training assessments to evaluate participants’ learning progress and measure the effectiveness of the training program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive training curriculum covering advocacy strategies, policy engagement, stakeholder mapping, and communication skills.
  • Deliver interactive and participatory training sessions tailored to the needs of diverse participants.
  • Utilize real-world case studies, role-playing, and group exercises to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Provide practical guidance on coalition-building, lobbying techniques, and policy negotiation.
  • Ensure a gender-sensitive and inclusive approach throughout the training.
  • Conduct pre- and post-training assessments to measure knowledge gained and training effectiveness.
  • Prepare and submit a detailed report summarizing key outcomes, participant feedback, and recommendations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in advocacy, policy engagement, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in training and capacity-building with civil society organizations, government entities, or media professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of advocacy methodologies, policy frameworks, and human rights principles.
  • Familiarity with Lebanon’s legal and political landscape concerning women's rights and governance.
  • Excellent facilitation, public speaking, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with diverse groups, including government officials, legal professionals, and community leaders.
  • Ability to develop engaging training materials and adapt content to suit different audiences.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken).

    Contract & Compensation

  • The trainer will be hired on a consultancy basis for the duration of the training sessions.
  • Compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
