Alternative Care Case Worker - South

Terre des hommes - Lausanne is seeking four qualified Alternative Care Caseworkers based in Tyre for or surroundings for one of its projects in the far South.

Job Purpose / Main Functions:

The Alternative Care Case Worker will operate within established Child Protection Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) under the direct supervision of the Senior Child Protection Officer and the guidance of the Senior Child Protection Technical Officer. This role is responsible for managing cases of vulnerable children who fall under the alternative care framework, regardless of nationality or legal status, including nationals, residents, refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), returnees, and undocumented individuals within the South Lebanon region.

The Case Worker will work closely with the child and relevant support networks, including biological and extended family members, neighbors, friends, host communities, host families, institutions, and other service providers or NGOs. The primary focus is on family-based or supervised independent living arrangements, requiring frequent and comprehensive follow-ups to ensure the child’s well-being and protection.

In an ethical and deontological approach, the aiternative care case worker helps to create conditions for children to have the means to be active in their own development and to strengthen the social links and solidarity where they live but also to enhance their resilience
