Legal Expert

MOSAIC is a holistic organization committed to improving the health and wellness of LGBTIQ persons in Lebanon and beyond. Through its national presence and regional networks in the MENA region, MOSAIC aims to foster the coexistence of people of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities (SOGI) within inclusive communities and national systems. Founded by LGBTIQ activists and legal and health experts, MOSAIC provides comprehensive services, advocates for policy reform, builds knowledge and capacities on SOGI issues, and engages both LGBTIQ and heterosexual individuals in the fight against homophobia.

Key Responsibilities:

Legal Consultation & Case Support

• Provide legal counseling and assistance to LGBTIQ individuals facing discrimination, violence, or legal challenges.
• Support clients in navigating legal procedures, including documentation, legal representation, and referrals.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop legal protection strategies for individuals in need.
• Provide technical guidance to MOSAIC’s team on legal procedures and rights-based interventions.

Networking & Partnerships

• Build and maintain partnerships with human rights organizations, bar associations, legal aid networks, and governmental institutions.
• Collaborate with local and international stakeholders to advance LGBTIQ legal rights in Lebanon and the MENA region.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: Law degree from an accredited university; specialization in human rights or international law is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in legal aid, human rights law, or advocacy, preferably in an NGO or humanitarian setting.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of Lebanese and international human rights laws, particularly those affecting LGBTIQ individuals.
• Skills: Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy skills; ability to work in a confidential and sensitive environment.
• Languages: Fluency in Arabic and English; French is a plus.
