Social Worker

The project T.A.R.A.B.U.T is funded by the European Commission as part of its support program “Support to initiatives to engage communities in culture, social cohesion and democratic participation”. This two year project will start on April 2025, implemented by Safadi Foundation in partnership with AIDA, its name means “Together Advancing Resilience And Building Unity in Tripoli”. 

Its Specific Objective is “Social cohesion is enhanced in the Tripoli area” and it will aim to achieve the 3 following Outcomes:

  1. Local stakeholders from different profiles and roles are mobilized for their city 
  2. Identified stakeholders gain knowledge and tools to become contributing actors to social cohesion in Tripoli 
  3. Local actors are equipped with resources to undertake actions promoting social cohesion 

Position Summary 

A social worker is a professional who helps to improve the living situation of individuals and families by analyzing the environment, relationships, systems and policies that impact their lives, helping trainees to overcome problems, listen to them, follow them up during training, and social assistance is considered a link between the institution and the beneficiaries. 

Key Responsabilities and Duties 

  • Identify, engage, and build relationships with beneficiaries and community stakeholders.
  • Conduct activities to raise awareness about the project’s social development and cohesion initiatives.
  • Facilitate focus groups, surveys, and interviews to assess community needs and challenges.
  • Assess the needs of individuals and groups to determine eligibility for project support.
  • Provide psychological support and referrals to appropriate services when needed.
  • Maintain effective communication and coordination with local partners to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Participate in relevant local coordination meetings and working groups.
  • Support the planning and execution of social development and cohesion activities.
  • Assist in designing and implementing capacity-building sessions, workshops, and community events.
  • Contribute to the development of intervention strategies that promote community resilience.
  • Track and document beneficiary participation and engagement in project activities.
  • Provide timely reports on challenges and impact assessments.
  • Maintain accurate records for social work intervention and referrals.
  • Advocate for beneficiaries’ access to essential services and support mechanisms.
  • Organize awareness sessions on key social issues.
  • Respond to urgent social issues and coordinate emergency support when required.
  • Work closely with the project team to develop action plans for crisis situations.
