The MHPSS technical officer position supports the National Mental Health Programme at the Ministry of Public Health across multiple projects. Some projects are implemented by the Lebanese Center for Civic Education (LCCE), while others are led by the Institute for Development, Research, Advocacy, and Applied Care (IDRAAC). All projects are carried out in partnership with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and funded by the World Bank.
Responsibilities:
- Support in development and adaptation of MHPSS key messages and social media posts
- Support in developing and revising training materials (content, PPT, pre-post, tests, etc.)
Preferred experience on the below topics
- Mental Health Safe Identification and Referral
- Psychological First Aid (PFA)
- Emotional Crisis Management (ECM)
- Problem Management Plus (PM+/GPM+)
- Self-Help Plus (SH+)
- Support in providing capacity building sessions as needed support the MHPSS technical coordinator at the NMJP
- Conduct literature review and desk review as needed
- Development and adaptation of participation criteria and support in selecting participants
- Conduct routine day-to-day coordination tasks
- Prepare Minutes of Meetings, when needed
Minimum qualifications and professional experience:
- University Degree: Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Psychology, Public Health, or Mental Health Social Work
- Experience: 5 years of relevant job experience in mental health and substance use
- Skills:
- Proven experience in material development, developing training exercises in accordance with the principles of adult learning, knowledge of facilitation methods (role plays, brainstorming, group discussions, etc.)
- Knowledge of evidence-based mental health interventions
- Knowledge of academic research methodology
- Experience in citing and referencing (APA is mandatory, knowledge of other formats is a plus)
- Excellent spoken and written skills in English and Arabic.
- Good planning, organizational, and time management skills.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple design projects simultaneously.
- Cultural sensitivity
- Experience in working with NGOs, government, or public health organizations is desirable.
- Digital Literacy
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Basic knowledge of cloud-based collaboration (OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of social communication platforms (Zoom, MS Teams, etc.)
- Basic technology literacy
- Basic knowledge of SPSS and PowerBI softwares
