Join our team at IET in collaboration with AUB and Cagliari University, partnered with Moonera, as we embark on a groundbreaking integrated waste management project in Nabatieh Gaza. This project spans 22 towns and is funded by the EU for a duration of two years. We are currently seeking a dynamic Financial Manager to oversee crucial financial aspects of the project and play a pivotal role in ensuring its success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Monitoring and Reporting: Handle financial monitoring, bookkeeping, and reporting, ensuring accurate documentation of all financial transactions.
- Expenditure Eligibility: Verify the eligibility of expenditures and ensure the safe receipt of financial sources.
- Budget Compliance: Ensure proper utilization of the budget in alignment with project guidelines and EU policies, collaborating with the project manager to monitor project budgets.
- Procurement Support: Assist in preparing documentation for tenders in accordance with EU procurement rules, and manage procurement activities and logistical arrangements adhering to EU procedures.
- Procurement Coordination: Ensure compliance with EU standards in all procurement arrangements related to project activities.
- Evaluation Participation: Prepare evaluation sheets and actively participate in evaluation committees.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial reports, supporting the preparation of interim and final reports.
- Collaboration and Cooperation: Work closely with the Project Manager and partners to ensure sound financial management.
- Adaptability: Perform any additional duties and responsibilities as required, including operating project phases and leading the creation of business plans to benefit potential entrepreneurs through the Green Economy Cluster (GEC).
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional Experience: Proven experience (3+ years) in financial management, accounting, or a related role. Experience working on projects funded by international organizations, particularly the EU, is highly preferred.
- Financial Skills: Strong financial monitoring & evaluating, bookkeeping, and reporting skills. Familiarity with budgeting and expenditure control is essential.
- Procurement Knowledge: Experience with procurement processes and logistics, as well as knowledge of EU procurement procedures and policies.
- Documentation and Reporting: Proficiency in preparing comprehensive financial reports and documentation for tenders according to EU rules.
- Budget Management: Demonstrated ability to ensure eligibility of expenditures and manage budgets in compliance with project guidelines and EU policies.
- Collaboration and Communication: Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with project managers and partners.
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in both written and spoken English.
- Team Player: A collaborative and team-oriented approach to work.
- Organizational and Time Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks within deadlines.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail in financial transactions and reporting.
