Position Title: Business Startup and Incubation Consultant

1. Background

Anera is implementing a structured learning program aimed at equipping youth (ages 18-24) with the essential entrepreneurial skills needed to establish and sustain their own businesses. To ensure effective delivery, a Business Startup and Incubation Consultant will provide expertise, training, and mentorship to support both the coaches and the young entrepreneurs.

2. Objectives

• The primary objectives of this consultancy are to:
• Provide strategic guidance and technical support to coaches and entrepreneurs throughout the business incubation process.
• Facilitate Training of Trainers (TOT) sessions to equip coaches with the necessary tools and knowledge.
• Offer tailored mentorship and progress tracking for startups using structured coaching models
• Develop and implement tools to monitor, assess, and support business growth.
• Ensure knowledge transfer through capacity-building workshops and hands-on training.

3. Scope of Work

The Business Startup and Incubation Consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:

3.1. Curriculum Delivery and TOT

• Conduct a 4-day TOT session for selected coaches on effective facilitation and entrepreneurship curriculum delivery.
• Provide trainers with practical facilitation techniques, business coaching strategies, and adult learning methodologies.

3.2. Business Coaching and Mentorship

• Guide and mentor coaches in supporting entrepreneurs during the 6-month incubation period.
• Provide tailored business advice to startups on operational challenges, market research, financial management, and customer acquisition.
• Facilitate monthly one-on-one coaching sessions and progress reviews with coaches and entrepreneurs.

3.3. Tools Development

• Develop business tracking templates, financial record sheets, sales tracking tools, and goal-setting frameworks.
• Design empathy-based feedback tools to document progress, challenges, and learning experiences.

3.4. Monitoring and Reporting

• Establish a monitoring framework to assess the progress of entrepreneurs and measure the effectiveness of coaching interventions.
• Submit comprehensive monthly reports detailing the progress of businesses and challenges faced.
• Document success stories and lessons learned from the incubation process.

4. Deliverables

The consultant will be responsible for delivering the following:

• A comprehensive TOT training package including materials and facilitator guides.
• Coaching tools and templates for business tracking and performance monitoring.
• Detailed progress reports on the performance of coaches and entrepreneurs.
• Final assessment report, including recommendations for program improvement.
• Success stories and case studies from the incubation period.

5. Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in startup consulting, business coaching, or incubation management.
• Proven track record of supporting startups through various growth stages.
• Strong understanding of entrepreneurial methodologies
• Experience in designing and facilitating Training of Trainers (TOT) sessions.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and mentorship skills.

6. Duration and Location

• The consultancy will be conducted over a period of 6 months.
• The consultant will be required to conduct on-site training and provide support in various locations where Anera operates.
